Communions & Confirmations, What's the Difference?

Communions and Confirmations are landmarks in any child's life. But how do you tell them apart? (Communions and Confirmations, not your children. If you can't tell your children apart, consider labelling them. But don't, whatever you do, go down the route of writing their names on their foreheads with permanent marker.)

1. Can you still carry your child on your shoulders?
Yes = Communion
No = Confirmation

2. Does your child know more about smartphones than you?

St Patrick's Day & Easter? What's the Difference?

There are so many holidays on the Irish calendar that are associated with religion or religious figures. Nearly all of them, in fact.

At this time of year, they come thick and fast. So how do you tell them apart? For instance, St Patrick's Day and Easter are just over the horizon.

Here's our handy guide to telling them apart:

1. Is it celebrated outside of Ireland as well?
Yes = St Patrick's Day ☘️ & Easter 🥚

2. Will alcohol be served?
Yes = St Patrick's Day ☘️ & Easter 🥚

3. Does it feel like other nations make a bigger deal of it than we do?
Yes = St Patrick's Day ☘️ & Easter 🥚

Actually, this isn't helping. But this will:

🚨 4. Will newsletter subscribers be entered into a draw for a giant chocolate Easter egg? 🚨
Yes = Easter (If you win, you'll have to collect it from one of our locations in Ballincollig, Douglas or Midleton. Rules here: BiteSize Newsletter Subscribers Only Easter Egg Prize Draw.)

All newsletter subscribers as of 12:00 noon on Wednesday 27th March, 2024, will be entered into a draw for a giant Easter egg that could look like this, but may also look a bit different. Regardless, it'll be a whopper.
